The pool will open for the season on May 5, 2012. The operating hours will be 8:00 am to 9:00 pm, unless it is dark before 9:00 pm. Swimmers must not be in the water after dark. The pool will close on September 30, 2012. Please take a minute to review the pool rules the first time you go. They are posted just inside the gate, on your left.

Information about Barricades on Juanita Drive

At the community meeting last week, a question was raised about the concrete barricades located at the edge of the neighborhood on Juanita Drive (just east of the intersection with Jeff Yates Street).  These barricades currently prevent access through the undeveloped neighborhood next to ours all the way out to Roberta Road.

Joe Wilson (City of Concord Transportation Director) has reviewed the situation and confirmed that these barricades were placed by the contractor/developer.  Furthermore, since that neighborhood is still being developed and the City has not taken over the rights of the streets yet, the contractors are allowed to leave these barricades in place until the point where they turn the streets over to the city.

As always, if you observe any suspicious/illegal activity (occurring in the adjacent neighborhood or in our own neighborhood), you are urged to call and report it to the police.

Neighbors Watching

Kudos to the alert neighbors at the intersection of Juantia and Josephine Streets.

They noticed some unusual activity on Friday night and alerted the authorities. Their actions may have saved the lives of a teen or two. That is neighborhood watch in action. Thanks to all.
