Community Meeting at Roberta UMC on April 18th at 7pm

Dear Neighbors,

You all should have received a mailing a few weeks ago about our semi-annual community meeting. As a reminder, we will meet at Roberta Methodist Church on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 7:00 pm.

During this meeting we will hold a vote regarding the remaining streetlights to be installed in the neighborhood.  If you cannot attend the meeting, please fill out and provide a copy of the proxy form to a neighbor who will be attending the meeting.  The deadline for mailing in your proxy form has passed, but you can still drop off a copy at Brenda’s house today if you would like your vote counted at the meeting.

Here is an electronic copy of the proxy form, if you do not have the physical copy mailed to your address.

Information about Barricades on Juanita Drive

At the community meeting last week, a question was raised about the concrete barricades located at the edge of the neighborhood on Juanita Drive (just east of the intersection with Jeff Yates Street).  These barricades currently prevent access through the undeveloped neighborhood next to ours all the way out to Roberta Road.

Joe Wilson (City of Concord Transportation Director) has reviewed the situation and confirmed that these barricades were placed by the contractor/developer.  Furthermore, since that neighborhood is still being developed and the City has not taken over the rights of the streets yet, the contractors are allowed to leave these barricades in place until the point where they turn the streets over to the city.

As always, if you observe any suspicious/illegal activity (occurring in the adjacent neighborhood or in our own neighborhood), you are urged to call and report it to the police.

Neighborhood Watch Meeting Minutes – February 27th

The meeting minutes from the Neighborhood Watch / Community meeting on February 27th, 2012 have been posted on the community meeting minutes page.

Neighbors Watching

Kudos to the alert neighbors at the intersection of Juantia and Josephine Streets.

They noticed some unusual activity on Friday night and alerted the authorities. Their actions may have saved the lives of a teen or two. That is neighborhood watch in action. Thanks to all.
